*+*Chapter 1: Lost in a Nightmare*+*
====================================
Bad things always happened in the night.

In the dark hours of the night the royal House of Cebolla was infiltrated. The invaders were fierce, brutal, and swift in their attack. Oni was afraid of the noises in the dark. She waited until the servant had left her bedroom, then slid down from the big bed on her stomach to the cold stone floor. Barefoot she ran to the hidden passage, a secret hallway that led to steep steps that ended in the tunnels that were below the kitchens. A passage that would led her to safety.

It was dangerous, and it was forbidden.

But on that terrible night of loss and sorrow, Oni didn't care if she got in trouble. She was scared, and whenever she got scared; she ran. Tormented screams of anguish and deslotion echoed throughout the halls. She could hear the names of people she cherished and loved being called over and over and over again. Death had entered their peaceful home and filled it with grief for the monsters of the night weren't through playing with them yet.

It was in the dead of the night eight years ago when the infidels invaded their home and Oni's family was destroyed. But to Oni, it still felt like yesterday. Never-ending nightmares prevent her from having a sound sleep so it's no surprise that she awoke in the early hours of dawn once more. Before the nightmare occurred she lived in the lap of luxury. Now she spent a great deal of her life serving the Pirate King, Taurus. She was one of hundreds that made up his vast crew. The ever silent servant that diligently worked behind the scenes out of plain eye view expecting nothing save food and bed in return.

Even if the Pirate King, or his brother Raditsu, didn't know it. They would be lost without her. Who would wash and mend their clothes? Who would polish their armor and weapons until a clear reflection could be seen in the sheen? Who would make their breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Or wash the dishes they dirtied and cleaned the table areas? Certainly not the other crew members nor the small robotic crew onboard. Surely the other servants had more important duties and the robots were barely programmed as it was and they served hardly any useful purpose at all. No, she was important to them all. They just didn't recognize it yet.

With thoughts of becoming more than just a servant in mind, Oni quickly scampered off to her duties. It was nearly breakfast time, and well after the hour of dawn. The crew would begin to bustle and hustle about the ship. Which meant clean-up from the night before, food preperation, and then serving the first meal of the day hot and fast.

It wasn't too long before the kitchen began to smell of freshly baked bread and muffins. The kitchen was spartan but the smells of home-cooked meals lent it a warm, comforting, and inviting atmosphere. The kind of place Oni often dreamed of when she allowed herself to fantasize about falling in love and having a family. Such a foolish notion now, she thought to herself. Her life was consumed with worry now, and there wasn't room for such yearnings.

*ZZzttt!* *Bzztt!*

Suddenly wild sparks began to come out of the dishwasher and the trash compactor. 'I didn't overload the machines did I?!' Oni thought in growing panic. Fear was quickly taking control of her sensibilities but now wasn't the time for distractions! She needed to fix the situation ASAP!

Only it wasn't so easy, Oni realized as the machines continued to spew out sparks and smoke whisps. At this rate someone important was bound to discover her amidst all the chaos and blame her for the whole thing! Her eyes continued to widen as she stepped back from the shower of sparks emitting from the busted machinery. Her hands reached up and grabbed the sides of her head in disbelief; pulling her hair back just slightly as she frantically thought, 'Oh no, what am I going to do?!'

Elsewhere on the Chini-Zu. . .

Madeleine sprang to loving attention the moment the handsome Raditsu entered the hall. A soft sigh escaped from the woman's lips, whom acted very alike a lovesick puppy when it came to the Saiya-jin heart-throb.

Raditsu was quite a sight to behold. A favorite past-time of his was to wander about shirtless which the female crew members would happily agree was not a problem. His body was covered in a fine sheen, a reflection of the corridor lights upon his large frame. The muscles of his arms rippled and flexed, making a woman's body strangely warm and needful. Every muscle on Raditsu was defined and even while relaxed, the strength of him was evident. A fine speciman of a Saiya-jin warrior, Raditsu seemed to have no flaws. . .

. . save for one.

He had an incredible weakness for women.

Radistu moved so quickly Madeleine didn't have time to react. In two long strides he had her in his arms. "Gotcha!"

Madeleine squealed like a giddy school girl. She was powerless to resist and especially when Radistu lowered his head to kiss her, effectively sealing any protest(*Not that she would have resisted in the first place*) she might have made.

"Wait! Radistu, I want-----"

Radistu kissed Madeleine once again, almost savagely, and then he slowly pulled back. "You want what?" he asked.

"I want to know where we really stand, Raditsu. We've known each other a very long time. . ."

Raditsu tried to concentrate on what Madeleine was saying, but he became distracted. She was pretty cute for a woman twenty years older than him. Age wasn't important to her and he thought that a refreshing difference between other women he'd known.

"So how many?"

What the heck was she talking about now? "How many, what?" he asked, realizing then he hadn't heard a word she'd said.

"Haven't you been listening?" she cried out in frustration.

"No."

Her shoulders slumped. "Raditsu, you're making this difficult," she sighed. "Have you been with many women?" Madeleine couldn't believe she had asked that question, and more than anything she wanted to take the words back. "Don't answer," she blurted out. "I shouldn't have asked."

"Madeliene, you can ask me anything," he said. "And yes, I've been with other women," he answered matter-of-factly. "But they meant nothing to me. Madeleine, we're together now. I will have only you and no other. We will both be faithful to each other, during the good and bad times we share. You shouldn't worry about those kinds of things. I want only you. You're my one and only."

The warmth in his voice was almost her undoing. She wanted to throw herself into his arms and hold him. She was completely in love with Raditsu. He was kind, handsome, funny, and most important of all; he loved her too.

"Madeleine," he murmured as he kissed his way down the side of her neck.

She tilted her head to the side to give him better access and with a sigh said, "Yes, Raditsu?"

"Tell me you love me," he said.

"I do love you," she confessed. "I love you with all of my body, heart, and soul!"

It nearly seemed like a fairytale where the couple would live happily ever after. . .

. . . except this was reality and the world around them suddenly intruded, forcing both of them back to the present.

"YOU SLUT!" Claire shrieked. "Get your hands off MY man!"

Madeleine laughed, the sound harsh in the sudden stillness. "He was never interested in you, Claire. Why can't you leave us be?"

"Leave?" Claire snapped back. "You're the one that needs to leave us alone. Raditsu is in love with me. He has _always_ been in love with me! But you can't take a hint. You're always trying to get your claws into him, whenever and however."

Madeleine sneered in anger. There was only so much she could take from Claire. "Well maybe Raditsu doesn't mind my personal attention since you could never satisfy him like I can!"

(*KRACK*) "BITCH!" Claire screamed as she ferociously backhanded Madeleine.

Raditsu could only look on in smug silence. This was the stuff of nocturnal dreams. Two beautiful women whom were both madly in love with him were about to duke it out and all for him! Who needed to watch daytime soap operas? All the skanky drama was right here! Hoo-Hah!

Annnnd elsewhere on the Chini-Zu. . .

SFX: (*AAAROOOOOGA! ARRROOOOGA*)

Loud klaxon bells echoed through-out the ship. Taurus looked up from the day's inventory logs that he had been studying intently.

"Curses," he muttered under his breath. He had lost track of time but his mind was now focused on finding out why the alarms were blaring. Each step that he took only served to fuel his rising anger. Taurus walked slowly and deliberately to the main room, discarding the inventory logs as he went, leaving them where they fell on the hallway floor. Something would come along and pick them up. Something _always_ came along and picked them up. ô_ô

"Computer. . ."

Techno PC Voice: Greetings O'Lord Scourge and High Master of all that is evil, malicious, sadistic, and terrible.

Taurus snorted. "Flattery gets you nowhere. Bring up the source of the sector alarms sounding. What the hell happened?!"

Techno PC Voice: Machine malfunctions in Sector 7 beta 49.45. Details are pending. . .

Taurus frowned. "Sector 7? Isn't that--"

Techno PC Voice: The kitchen.

"CCUUURRRSSSESSS!" His voice echoed off the long empty corridors upon seeing the damaged kitchen. The kitchen was in shambles! HIS KITCHEN! The enraged Saiya-jin pirate stormed over to the elevator that would take him to the mess hall. With any luck the ship's engineers had already taken care of the situation because their very lives depended on whether or not the emergency was already cleared and fixed.

He didn't get too far down the corridor before two crew members alerted him of the nasty situation.

"It's as I said before," the male in red insisted.

"Then say it again," Taurus commanded, deliberately moving close so that the man would have to crane his head back in order to look him in the eyes. "Word for word."

By Kami, his commander was intimidating. The Pirate King Taurus was a good two heads taller than him and by the looks of his muscular frame the Saiya-jin could crush him to pieces with just a finger. "I-I saw a tailed-female working in the kitchen. I had thought Faerae and I were the only two on mess hall duty this day but the tailed-female was performing all of our tasks! Before I could confront her, the machinery in the kitchen ignited into sparks and smoke! There was nothing I could do. I don't know how to repair the machines and so I ran to activate the nearest emergency alarm."

"What is the female's name?!" Taurus growled menacingly.

"I don't know," the red-suited male whimpered.

"Where is she now?!" the Pirate King roared.

"I-I don't know!"

****GRAPHIC GORE AND VIOLENCE ADVISORY!!!****

"WRONG ANSWER," Taurus snarled.

Taurus' right hand moved faster than the human eye could perceive and plunged his entire hand through the male's chest. Growling through gritted teeth Taurus yanked back in a swift, steady motion. With a sickening popping and crackling sound the man's head and spine seperated from the remainder of his body.

The crew member's face distorted with an expression of sheer terror as he watched his bloodied, mutilated body fall forward. His mouth opened in a deafeningly silent scream as he realized what had just happened.

For the coup de grace Turles shifted his hand from the neck of the still very much alive crew member to the base of his spine and swung it down like a sledge hammer into the crimson-stained floor. The head literally exploded like a shattered crystal vase, splattering grey matter and fragments of bone on the surrounding walls.

****End of Graphic Gore and Violence****

Satisfied the crew member had learned his lesson Taurus bent his head up as he pondered aloud, "Now what was it I was going to do again?"

The remaining crew member nervously shuffled his feet. "Uh. . . destroy the person really responsible for ruining your morning," he squeaked.

"Tch, and that wasn't you I'm assuming," Taurus questioned suspiciously.

"No! No, I'm innocent!"

Taurus leaned forward and grinned like the devil. "Then why are you standing here wasting my time and doing nothing? GET BACK TO WORK BEFORE I BLAST YOU TO FUCKING HELL!"

The crew member screamed like a little girl as he fled for his life.

Taurus chuckled. It felt so good to be so bad and with that sobering thought in mind he took off like a bat out of hell. Whomever was responsible for destroying his precious kitchen(*Saiya-jin have voracious appetites and absolutely love food. Any kitchen stocked with food is alike the Holy Grail to them.*) was going to experience a whole world of pain before he ripped their head clean off their shoulders. >_>

Oni felt ill and knew that if she sat down she probably wouldn't have enough strength to get back up again, and so she paced up and down the mess hall's aisle while she thought about her dire circumstances. What in the world was she going to do, she wildly thought in panic. Suddenly the mess hall's door flew open, and there in the middle of the arch stood the most intimidating warrior she had ever seen!

"Taurus-sama!"
