Welcome to my Sims 2 Story. This is Saijin Moon: Volume Four
This is Saijin Moon: Volume Four
Author's Note: When I mention 'demon/daimon' or 'youma' I do not attribute any religious connotations to the word. All that is meant is that the person is relatively 'not good'.

Author Note: As always there is animated violence in this story but nothing that is too gruesome to bear. Thank you for joining me. I hope that you enjoy this Sims 2 Story.

* *Step into the Past* *
===========================
"Come out, come out, where ever you are..." a baritone voice taunted.

Even amidst the tormented screams of the people that she loved and cherished, the sounds of the monster's heavy footsteps thundered even louder in her head. Death had entered her home and filled it with grief for the monsters of the night weren't through playing with them yet. (*thump. Thump. THUMP.*) Closer and closer came those horrible sounds. The heels of the monster's boots sent tiny shock waves into the ground and cold chills up her spine.

A brief pause.

"Come out little one. I promise not to hurt you," the voice wickedly chuckled, "-too much."

Whenever she got scared; she ran. Oni threw caution to the wind. She scrambled for the door as fast as her tiny feet could carry her.

A hand slammed hard on her shoulder and spun her around. A blonde woman shook her head and drew her close. "Sssh this is not the time to run, princess. Please for the love of all that is good, keep still for your sake and my own."

Oni squeezed her eyes shut in an attempt to fight back the hot stinging tears that threatened to spill onto her cheeks. The noises of the night terrified her to no end but she would not put her lady's maid, Beatrice in danger. For all that she knew, Beatrice was all that remained of her family.

Beatrice panted in hysteria alongside her young mistress. In the dark hours of the night the royal House of Cebolla was infiltrated. The invaders were fierce, brutal, and swift in their attack. The invasion could have occurred for a number of reasons but she suspected it had something to do with the letter. Weeks before a strange missive had been delivered to the hands of the Lord and Lady of the House of Cebolla. The letter must have been foul for the looks on their faces was frightening, wide-eyed with terror. Beatrice could only assume that the letter contained vile threats against the royal family.

The older woman took her hand away from her mistress' mouth then carefully sat her upon the bed. "Wait here, my lady. I will find out if the danger has passed." The lady's maid crept to the door lest she make a noise to alert the invaders of their presence. She slowly pulled the door ajar as if it was made of glass. Satisfied that the coast was for now clear she quickly left the room and Oni.

'She left me. . . SHE LEFT ME,' Oni wildly panicked. What if the monsters discovered her bedroom upstairs? What if they found Beatrice?

Scores of nightmares suddenly infiltrated her already terrified mind. Thoughts of rabid creatures with horrific claws and sharp jaws that rendered bare flesh into bloody ribbons prompted Oni to slid down from the big bed to the cold wood floor. Shivering, as much from fear as cold, she pushed aside her clothing chest to reveal a small grate behind it. With a loud grunt, she managed to pull the small grate off its hinges. Frightened, she crawled into the grate space which led to the hidden passage, a secret hallway that led to steep steps that ended in the tunnels that were below the kitchens. A passage that would lead her to safety. It was dangerous and it was forbidden but she had no choice.

The screams of desolation and anguish returned twofold. Blindly she ran into the bleak darkness hoping to find a light, a torch, _something_ to show her the way out. Thankfully she managed to find a dim candlelight sitting upon a wooden table. The dim light of the candle revealed stone steps curving around a slim central pillar. Oni Cebolla drew up her skirts with one hand, balanced the brass dish in the other, and descended. The narrow, wedge-shaped steps fanned steeply downward, and she moved carefully in the darkness. Since her room was on the third level, she guessed that the tunnels must be on the first or even the basement level, but she saw no door as yet.

Moments later, she heard a squeak, and felt, over her foot, the breezy passage of a furry-footed creature. Gasping, she jerked, and her shoes skidded on smooth, worn stone. She reached out for the wall, losing her grip on the candle dish, and recovered her footing, but the brass dish clattered away, extinguishing. Blackness engulfed her. She fought back the urge to launch into a barrage of pitiful tears. Instead, she turned to inch back up the steps. Hampered by her skirts, the darkness, and the steep, oddly shaped steps, she missed her footing again and fell hard to one knee. Gathering her skirts, she stepped upward, but tilted and then tumbled helplessly into the inky pit behind her.

====================================
This was not good, Aaron Socrates decided. He sighed, as he turned his cellphone to the 'buzz' mode. The news he had just relayed to Buruma Briefs was less than enjoyable. Who wanted to hear that a mysterious form of electromagnetic radiation was causing people to fall un-consciously to the ground? Certainly not him and especially not at this early hour. He stifled a loud yawn. Now why couldn't these people pick a normal time of day to play dead, he wondered irritably. The afternoon or the evening would have been sufficient enough to give decent people(AKA a slacker like himself) time to recover from last night's 'bring down the roof' party.

"Hard at work, I see."

Aaron whirled around in surprise. A pale-skinned young woman quietly stood with her arms at her sides. She could be labeled as the timid loner. The sort of person that collected lamps as a hobby, read literary novels like 'War and Peace' for fun, and wrote beautiful poetry in her spare time. Hotaru Tomoe, whom was often shy, often teased by others, was unfortunately most known for being the only daughter of Professor Tomoe; a world re-known scientist.

"Oh no, she caught me," Aaron mocked surprise. He put out both his hands in closed fists, "Arrest me, officer Tomoe. Take me to your blessed leader and such."

Hotaru smiled softly not quite sure what to make of Aaron.

"Morning, firefly (*Hotaru's Japanese name roughly translates to firefly*)," Aaron said. "What brings you down to Kyoto?"

She shifted her glance to the eerily empty streets. At this time of day the sidewalks were normally full with the hustle and bustle of people coming to and from work or school. The streets often reminded her of an ant farm with busy bodies that never stopped and kept a quick pace. Often one would have to use their elbow to casually shove aside others to make their own way down the street. "I heard on the news that a wave of energy collided with the residents causing them to immediately fall into a state of coma," she quoted. "A few hours before the broadcast I had a premonition that darkness walked the streets of the living. I came to investigate on my own."

Aaron scratched his chin. In his general opinion things alike premonitions, visions, and fortune telling were ridiculous fads that were thought up by mindless people looking to scam an extra buck. However, in Hotaru's case--there was just something about her that science could not measure with reason. They made an interesting pair that was for certain. He was a man of science and she was a woman of the beyond. "I don't know about the darkness thing but I do know that the electro-magnetic frequencies are off the charts." He stooped down and quickly began spooning teaspoons of soil into a variety of glass flasks. "Which means it's probably not safe for you to be standing here."

Image hosting by Photobucket
Hotaru silently watched as Aaron continued on with his work. She had met Aaron through her father. An odd situation for some daughters but in her case it was a wonderful memory. Aaron was in his second year of internship at the University while she barely in her first semester. The unthinkable occurred when one day her father brought Aaron home for dinner. The evening that day was a whirlwind of happiness and delirious fun. If it hadn't been for her father she would never have had the courage to approach Aaron, a handsome male with loads of genius. Of course, at times that genius level was often fleeting, Hotaru thought in growing amusement. She shot Aaron a dubious look. "How is it more safer for you to be here than me?"

Image hosting by Photobucket
She had him there. 'What to say, what to say,' he pondered. Aaron carefully placed the samples of soil into a leather knapsack. The Capsule Corp. main laboratory was his next stop. The samples had to be immediately taken in for analysis as per Buruma Brief's instructions. He quickly stood, wiping all thoughts of facing another night without sleep from his mind. "Would I save face if I mentioned the age old theory of masculinity versus femininity in periods of dire circumstances? Men-folk are borne to handle life threatening situations while women are not. A good example is always seen in the slasher movies like Halloween or the never-ending Jason movies. The women are always tripping over something as tiny as a twig in their path then ker-SPLAT! She's whacked into messy meat cutlets that not even the good folk from CSI Las Vegas can put back together." Aaron playfully patted Hotaru's head, "Which is why it's safer for me to be here than you."

Image hosting by Photobucket

"_What was that_?" she demanded in a dangerous tone. Suddenly Hotaru towered over Aaron as if she had grown a hundred feet tall in the last few seconds. An aura of crackling energy swirled around her form as her expression delivered promises of painful death to the entire horror movie industry (*and Aaron*). Where did they get off perpetrating the myth that women were weaklings suited only to wear skimpy lingerie as they waited to be hacked into fan service morsels for male audiences everywhere?! The air seemed to shout, 'DOOOOOM'! all over the place. Aaron shrieked like a ninny quickly grabbing the title for the newest 'scream queen' of 2006. o_O

"You're amusing," Hotaru laughed.

Aaron sheepishly grinned but then his smile faded into an expression of surprise. "Hotaru--"

His tone of voice was sharp and urgent. A cold chill shot up her spine. Hotaru took a timid step toward Aaron but he suddenly leaped forward, tackling her to the ground. Before she could register any coherent thoughts the ground beside them SHATTERED.

====================================
She was a mess.

Bloodied, battered, and bruised beyond normal repair. Oni tasted her pain. It was bitter. Salty. She moved her hand to wipe her tears away only it wouldn't budge. Again, she willed her right hand to move but it remained still. She focused then on moving her legs but before she could even think; a sudden spasm ran up and down her spine. She cried out in sheer agony.

Image hosting by Photobucket
"Hello little one," Etenaru sneered, "So glad that you could join me. It's a good day for a blood bath don't you agree?"

Image hosting by Photobucket
She tried to look up but was forcibly turned to the side as the toe of his boot kicked her hard in the face. Thrown off balance she tumbled to the side and right onto her broken arm. She screamed in utter agony. The pain felt as if a thousand knives were being thrust into an open wound all at once. How much time had passed while she was at the mercy of this monster? How long had he been--- Oni's eyes narrowed into slits.

"You, _coward_! Were you beating me this whole time?! I was unconscious!"

The youma straightened to his full height. He sneered. "Too bad, I was hoping you were dead."

Taurus was quite glad to be out of the ship. For some reason he kept thinking about that girl. That blasted woman. Traipsing around his ship wearing that skimpy little top and those tight shorts, all smudged with soot and at times holding industrial equipment. Who did she think she was? o_O Practically unconsciously he programmed his scouter with the information Beak had provided to search for Oni. He had all of her data stored in his scouter. Height, weight, blood type, genetic sequence, he knew everything about her. He could even buy her something at one of those human swanky shops and get the perfect size. . .

Image hosting by Photobucket
He was hardly surprised when the scanner led him directly to a half-demolished building. The girl had an apparent knack for breaking things. The Mess Hall's kitchen, the Chini-Zu's teleportation center, his heart. .

The Pirate King had known Oni for a very long time. She did not know he knew, but he had known about her from the moment she first arrived on his ship. She had been a scrawny whelp back then, barely worthy of any notice.

Image hosting by Photobucket
When he disbanded a good portion of his crew she had decided to stay behind. The funny thing was that she had decided to do so in secret, or so she thought. For a long time he had taken a kind of subversive pleasure in watching her sneak around his ship, doing little tasks here and there, preparing special meals, and other such things. He had even begun re-, or rather, de-programming the service bots so they would do less work and she would have to pick up the slack. It amazed him that she never decided to just give up even after he had practically disabled every bot on the ship.

Image hosting by Photobucket
Recently though, he had begun to notice something else about her. In the past couple of years she had grown into quite a fine specimen of Saiya-jin femininity. ô_ô A woman truly worthy of becoming his mate.

The demon's fingers wrenched into the female's shoulder and pulled her off the ground. Etenaru threw her against a wall keeping her pinned to it. "You." He spat, white fangs glimmering with saliva. He pulled a fist back to strike her but in fact he was gathering ki into his right hand; glowing with energy to apply the finishing blow. "If you thought you could lay a hand on me and get away with your life. You thought wrong, you miserable little bitch. I'm going to make sure I finish what I started."

Image hosting by Photobucket
She felt rather than saw the sharp swell of energy as his ki began to gather, collecting in his palm; the air grew warm as the gathering power heated it, and her skin began to prickle as the sheer intensity of the ball of force he was summoning made her cringe inwardly. 'No, I can't. . .let this happen. . .' But however willing her mind was, her body was not able. She clenched her jaw and struggled to move, willing her dead limbs to lift, but it was too much, too soon; nothing happened. All she could do was look up into his ugly, cold face, and utter a growl of mingled hatred, fury, and frustration through her teeth.

The ball stopped growing in his palm; Etenaru smiled. "Die," he said simply. Oni opened her mouth to shout in impotent rage---

A shadow flickered; the air whipped about suddenly. Startled, Etenaru looked up---and screamed in utter agony as his arm vanished in a flash of orange ki.

Oni made an effort and lifted her head, her limbs feeling leaden but she was not being beaten upon, at last. She wished that she could move but settled for willing the world to stop spinning. Surprisingly, it did. "Impossible. . . who?" Oni abruptly became aware that she was sitting in a shadow; she looked up-- And stared, wondering if she was hallucinating.

Image hosting by Photobucket
Taurus lowered his hands. clenching them slowly into fists, then turned to look down at her; one corner of his mouth lifted in a smug, grim smile. "Oni," Taurus said. "For now, stay out of my way."

Image hosting by Photobucket
The Pirate King could see that she was barely alive and he didn't really have time to play around and show off to Oni what fate truly befell those who angered him. He turned away to look in the direction of Etenaru; his eyes narrowed, a muscle in his jaw tensing. And his voice dropped, becoming deadly.

"This battle is mine, now."
